What We Do
What We Do
Working across 12 local authorities in the West of Scotland, we are now one of the largest and most well-established Regional Equality Councils in Scotland. Our delivery is a combination of grassroot support, mainstreaming equalities within the Public and Private sectors, and also beinging part of strategic targets that ensure a fair and equal society in Scotland. In 2020, we revised our vision and aims as a natural transition towards advocating for basic necessities for disadvantaged groups, including human rights and entitlements plus the need to play an active role in society.
As we celebrate over 50 years of championing equalities, we know that our work is needed now more than ever due to the lasting effects of the pandemic and the ongoing disparities that minority ethnic individuals and communities face. We endeavour to provide services to support the wide range of issues affecting people within the West of Scotland.
Based in Glasgow, we provide the following services to diverse minority ethnic groups.
Equality and Human Rights
Our equality and human rights services provide free support to minority ethnic adults affected by crime and / or discrimination. We offer a range of services, such as; workshops, training, and one-to-one appointments.
Health and Wellbeing
Our health and wellbeing services provide free support to minority ethnic individuals on topics of mental health, self-care, and positive thinking, to boost morale and enable them to lead a healthier and happier life.
Employability and Training
Our employability and training services provide free support to minority ethnic individuals, including Refugees and Asylum Seekers. We offer one-to-one support, as well as capacity building workshop.
Advice and Information
Our advice and information services provide free support to minority ethnic individuals on topics such as EU Settlement, welfare, debt, housing, energy, and more.
