Length of Volunteering: Hours will vary and will be flexible, according to the team leader and yourself (August 2016 – June 2017)

Project Profile

Living Equality aims to support diverse communities and community organisations to positively advance the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) across West of Scotland with the public sector.

Organisational Profile

West of Scotland Regional Equality Council (WSREC) challenges discrimination, reduces inequality and promotes good relations between all communities. We work closely with minority ethnic communities from across the West of Scotland to identify service needs and gaps and respond to them by delivering short and long term projects which meet these needs.  Please visit www.wsrec.co.uk for more information on WSREC.

The Role

The role of the MEWPP members will involve being community champions and act as point of engagement for wider civic society on a range of issues.

MEWPP members will be contributing in community events, and cascading within civic society, thus challenging discrimination and supporting equal opportunities.

MEWPP members will have the opportunity to take the lead in organising events and deliver training.

Training and support will be provided to help improve your knowledge and experience.
