Activities and Outreach Assistant (21 hours per week @ £18,500 pro rata)

Project Profile

The Cook, Grow, Sew and Change project will work with ethnic minority communities in Glasgow, North Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire to highlight climate change and how to effectively reduce carbon emissions. We will deliver various activities based around energy efficiency, low carbon food, zero waste textiles and growing your own food. The project will also undertake awareness raising activities to encourage people from all ages to take the lower carbon route as part of their daily lifestyles.

Organisational Profile

West of Scotland Regional Equality Council challenges discrimination, reduces inequality and promotes good relations between all communities. We work closely with minority ethnic communities from across the West of Scotland to identify service needs and gaps and respond to them by delivering short and long term projects which meet these needs.  We have achieved accreditation from Investors in People.

The Role

The position is that of Outreach Activities Assistant, where the post holder will support the Project Coordinator and Activities and Engagement Officer in outreach, marketing and delivery of project objectives. The position is funded till 31/03/2018. This post is funded by the Keep Scotland Beautiful Climate Challenge Fund
