Vacancies

West of Scotland Regional Equality Council (WSREC) are looking to recruit the following posts for our new and exciting Climate Challenge Project.

  1. Outreach and Engagement Officer 28 hours per week @ £22,950 per annum pro rata

  2. Community Project Gardener approx. 11 hours per week @ £9.62 per hour

  3. 3x Project Support Workers (Sessional) approx. 7.5 hours per week @ £9.62 per hour

(All of the above are funded until 31st March 2020)

Project Profile

Cook, Grow Sew – Branching Out is an innovative community-led climate action project, reaching out to minority ethnic (ME) communities in Glasgow, North Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire. The aim of the project is to engage ME and wider communities to low carbon lifestyles by introducing easy and effective carbon reduction measures. The project endeavors to build resilient, diverse communities by providing platforms for community integration and engagement on thematic areas of food and textile waste reduction, energy efficiency and low carbon travel.

Organisational Profile

West of Scotland Regional Equality Council challenges discrimination, reduces inequality and promotes good relations between all communities. We work closely with minority ethnic communities from across the West of Scotland to identify service needs and gaps and respond to them by delivering short and long term projects which meet these needs.

These post are funded through the Keep Scotland Beautiful – Climate Challenge Fund
